Greenhill Surrey

The private residence of Lord and Lady Cowdray, this was a total refurbishment an old Sussex house. Where we came on for planning consent to add on a beautiful conservatory to the main house.

We completely refurbed the house with new wiring, plumbing, bathrooms, flooring and kitchens, as a turn key operation. We and our team did all the planning for the project with the local council and we were guided by the fantastic Ewan McCloud who had previously done a lot of work at Cowdray house.

There was a rebuilding of a pool house and re-landscaping of all the gardens around the house, so we were also engaged to get a planning consent to a new office and garage complex down the hill on the main driveway. To do this we had to pile the side of the hill below the lake so as not to allow the hill to be stable below the lake.

We also had to do the same up at the top of the hill and use a biomass wood chip boiler – the estate provided the wood chips so this proved to be a sensible route to heating the house.

The project lasted approximately two years and we spent a sizeable sum of money ensuring it was completed to the highest standards. Our in-house team provided all the IT, audio, lighting and controls that linked all four buildings together, so as to provide a comprehensive modern communication system.
